January 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the Library. As our village and school district have grown, so have our services. Since 1944, the Library has moved once, added an addition, updated the expansion, and flipped our departments to broaden the benefits to our youth population. In the last decade, we doubled our programs but often outsourced the venue due to the small size of our community room. We added passport, notary, fax, and print services, and discontinued fines. We now bring high-speed internet through our computer stations; the Wi-Fi is available in and outside the building. Currently, the existing building is short on quiet space for tutors or small groups, short on shelving space for materials, and short on office workspace for employees. Our one constant, though, is our customer service. Grafton-Midview Public Library is where you always receive a warm greeting as you walk through the doors. Our professional help is top-notch, and our desire to fulfill your needs is ever-present. With this in mind, the Board of Trustees and administration must plan a library expansion supporting this community's needs and aspirations. We intend to look at our existing property and other properties in the district to ascertain the best space to meet the growing demands for the near future and beyond. We invite you on this journey with us as we gather feedback. You can rest assured; we want to know what is important to you because that matters. We intend to keep you in the loop, being transparent as we research and plan with you in mind. ~ Adele
