2 GRAFTON-MIDVIEW PUBLIC LIBRARY || MAY-AUGUST 2021 || REGISTER ONLINE AT GMPLIBRARY.ORG To our longtime friends and patrons and our new community members, hello! I hope this newsletter finds you healthy and hopeful for warm, leisurely days ahead. All of us at GMPL are happy to present our May-August newsletter packed with ideas. Our Youth Services team featured on the cover is ready and willing to help your child choose their next book, audio book, or Launchpad. Perhaps you need assistance selecting items as your toddler moves closer toward their 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Our goal is to make your life simpler during the long days of summer. We plan to continue our popular Take Out Service in the vestibule for those who want to run in and run out. Come in and browse the collection with no need to wait in line to check out materials. We have a new app for your phone, enabling you to check out your materials, register for a program, and manage your Library account. EASY PEASY! Are you new to our Library and without a card? No problem. Log onto our website and register for an immediate card number to access our digital content of books, audio, movies on Kanopy, and Bookflix for children. But, hold on, there is more! Have you put off changing jobs because you are unable to create a resume? Now you can find help all from the comfort of your home. Go to the JobNow database found on our website for live job coaching from 2-11 PM. Or check out the HelpNow database under the Children’s tab to locate Online Learning. Along with help for students through grade 12, you can find graduate school entrance test help, an adult learning center, and computer instruction. It just doesn’t get easier. Look for Library pop-ups in the community, and our 24/7 lockers soon to arrive at the front of our building. Our new lockers let you pick up or drop off materials outside the building, all made possible in part through the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) Public Library Assistance Program, a donation from The Friends of the Grafton-Midview Public Library, donations to the Community Foundation Connect to a Cause Fundraiser, and the Grafton-Midview Public Library Foundation. We are grateful for all the support. Lastly, in conjunction with our summer reading program, free hot lunches are back! We are hosting the Summer Food Service Program at the Library and the Colonial Oaks Mobile Home Park five days a week for eight weeks this summer. Come and enjoy your summer at the Grafton-Midview Public Library. We look forward to serving you! Adele Infante FROM THE DIRECTOR...
