Children's Social Story We know visiting the Library can be challenging for some families. Our new social story gives your little one the chance to "meet" the Library and learn about us so they feel comfortable when visiting. Our social story is part of an ongoing effort to make the Library a more sensory-friendly place, and to offer more adapted services because of a generous grant from Autism Speaks. Please visit the Kids page on our website to read our social story with your child. CHILDREN'S SERVICES ALWAYS AVAILABLE GMPL Kids Blog Does your child need a new series to read after finishing all the Dog Man books or the Harry Potter series? Are you looking for easy crafts and science experiments to fill your weekend? The Youth Services Department has a blog! Check out our book reviews, fun projects, and behind-the-scenes stories of the Library at gmplkids.com . We're always sharing the latest titles so let us help you find your new favorite book! The idea is simple: Read to your little one to better prepare them for kindergarten. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten encourages the social, emotional, and cognitive development needed for little ones to succeed in school. The more children are read to, the larger their vocabularies become and the more prepared they are to begin school. Reading together also encourages children to recognize reading as an enjoyable and valuable experience and to become lifelong readers. Visit the Kids page on our website for all the details. Z = Zoom Meeting A Note from Your Youth Services Librarians Whether it's hunting for your child's next read, entertaining your little ones with interactive storytimes, or providing homework help and materials for the classroom, we have a wide variety of services and resources to offer. We are always available to assist you.
